Travel to time and space

The creative director Louis Vuitton Virgil Abloh is presented Fall / Winter 2021/22 menswear collection.

In the absence of real travel, the designer invites us into the imaginary and he decided to go with us on a real trip around the world. In a new digital show he presented an incredibly bold mix of styles and eras.

In collection there were Scottish kilts, cowboy hats and Cossack boots, ceremonial camisoles in the spirit of the 19th century, kimono coats, draped plaids like the African Masai tribe, and even short down jackets with voluminous details in the form of replicas of the main attractions of Paris and New York. An airplane – images of “iron birds” appeared both on sweaters and as buttons on jackets and coats so, even inspired the shape of the bags.

Much has been made of Abloh’s lack of formal training – his degree is in architecture and civil engineering rather than fashion design.
