Olıvıer Rousteıng Named Creatıve Dırector of Rabanne
In a major shakeup for the fashion industry, Olivier Rousteing has officially been named the new creative director of Rabanne. The announcement, shared today by the brand’s parent company, Puig, marks an exciting new chapter for the designer as he takes over for Julien Dossena, who concluded his 13-year tenure this past June. Expressing his deep admiration for the label, Rousteing called the appointment a tremendous honor, praising Rabanne’s historic reputation for challenging conventions and pushing the boundaries of innovation and craftsmanship.
This highly anticipated career move follows his monumental departure from Balmain in 2025 after a transformative 16-year run. Having made history in 2011 as the first Black designer—and at just 25 years old, one of the youngest—to lead a major Parisian fashion house, Rousteing masterfully merged founder Pierre Balmain’s classic couture opulence with a highly modern, celebrity-fueled global appeal. Now, the fashion world is eagerly watching to see how his bold, signature vision will evolve the legacy of Rabanne.
