Vacheron Constantın’s Égérıe Moon Phase Sprıng Blossom

Reinventing tradition is no small feat for a maison with over 270 years of unbroken history. Yet, it is precisely this creative audacity that ensures Vacheron Constantin remains at the pinnacle of haute horlogerie. At this year’s Watches and Wonders, the world’s oldest continuous watchmaker unveiled a vibrant array of novelties, seamlessly weaving a fresh, contemporary vision into its storied heritage. The crowning jewel of its feminine releases is the Égérie Moon Phase Spring Blossom—a masterful tribute to artisanal craftsmanship that elevates the ongoing dialogue between high watchmaking and haute couture.

A Pioneering Approach to Métiers d’Art Crafted in pink gold and strictly limited to 100 pieces, this timepiece propels the couture-inspired Égérie collection into uncharted territory. Marking a historic first for Vacheron Constantin, the watch is presented on a hand-painted leather strap. Channeling the dreamy romance of springtime, the calfskin strap is adorned with delicate, hand-applied floral motifs. Because of the bespoke nature of the artisan’s brushwork, every single strap remains an entirely unique work of art.

While Vacheron Constantin possesses a profound legacy in métiers d’art, the maison’s relentless pursuit of new expressive avenues ensures its craft never stagnates. Sandrine Donguy, the brand’s Product and Creation Director, defines the maison as “a guardian of traditional decorative handcrafts.” This preservation is achieved two-fold: first, by championing established disciplines like miniature painting, and second, “by applying it in a way not previously done—to the strap, rather than the dial or case.” Donguy emphasizes that true ingenuity in watchmaking lies not just in utilizing these artistic forms, but in “ensuring their continuity and relevance by innovating, experimenting, and evolving them in new directions.”

Couture-Inspired Elegance The result is a horological marvel whose artistry extends far beyond the confines of its dial and case. The Égérie Moon Phase Spring Blossom reimagines the collection’s signature aesthetics through the elegant lens of the season. Positioned asymmetrically at 1:30, the moon phase complication is framed by a delicate halo of gold and diamonds. Within it, lustrous mother-of-pearl clouds and a golden moon vividly capture the romance of the night sky. In perfect visual harmony, the crown—set with a milky, celestial moonstone cabochon—aligns with the lunar display. Anchoring the design is a pink mother-of-pearl dial featuring the collection’s hallmark pleated motif, a direct homage to the intricate plissage techniques of high fashion.

Versatility by Design Much like the dynamic wardrobe of a couture client, the Égérie Moon Phase Spring Blossom embraces versatility. The timepiece is accompanied by an intuitive interchangeability system, offering two additional straps to instantly transform its character: a high-gloss pink alligator leather for classic refinement, and a blush pink grosgrain fabric that effortlessly complements evening silks.
