Dıor mens necklace by Vıctoıre de Castellane and Kım Jones

More news about Dior mens jewellery, and in particular a priceless Dior men’s necklace. Jack Kerouac’s novel On the Road made its initial debut in the autumn of 1957. A defining work of post-war counterculture, with its depiction of American road-tripping, On the Road has since its publication enthralled generations of readers. It has inspired film adaptions, song lyrics and verses of poems.

But it was at the end of last year and in London that Kerouac’s work received its arguably most precious dedication yet. Because for his Dior Autumn 2022 menswear collection, designer Kim Jones name-checked the novel among his design inspirations. And it was Jones’ collection that in turn gave shape to a high jewellery pendant necklace. Jones conceived of the rare gem in dialogue with Victoire de Castellane, the artistic director of Dior Joaillerie.

And as On the Road chronicles, the travels of Kerouac and his friends, this Dior necklace too has journeys at its heart. In the shape of a book, the box-like pendant in yellow gold is set with an opal (the stone counts among de Castellane’s favourite materials) on one side. On the reverse, a square-cut jasper. Open the pendant to reveal a map engraved in gold and a trio of brightly sparkling diamonds. Then, on the clasp, a compass rose symbol. The motif was chosen to lead the way. And also in tribute to the Maison’s founder Christian Dior, who counted the compass rose among his lucky charms.
