ECO-FRIENDLY JEWELRY BRANDS

Chemically identical to natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds are the driving force behind a new design approach that offers a range of environmental and ethical benefits not found in the traditional diamond supply chain. This nascent sector is gaining serious momentum as designers begin to prioritize environmental responsibility and ethically conscious consumption. It is estimated that the global market will reach nearly $50 billion by 2030. Jewelry brands that showcase different and unusual designs with lab-grown diamonds also highlight the concept of sustainability.

Jean Dousset, the great-grandson of legendary jeweler Louis Cartier, balances impeccable taste and a passion for jewelry with his eponymous jewelry brand. In 1992, the designer started his career at the Chaumet jewelry house in Paris and then worked under the famous French jewelry designer Alain Boucheron. Jean Dousset continued his brilliant career as the international director of Van Cleef & Arpels’ high jewelry exhibitions. After years of working with High Jewellery brands and the experience she gained, she opened her eponymous Los Angeles showroom in 2010, presenting contemporary and innovative fine jewelry designs. The ‘Oui’ collection debuted on August 3, 2020, with each piece designed exclusively from GIA-certified highquality lab-grown diamonds with a D-H color range. Since then, all of the brand’s designs have been exclusively made with labgrown diamonds.

The precious metals used in the products are sourced from reliable sources that trace their origin and are recycled. All jewelry is made in-house at Inardi Jewelry, so you can be sure that quality and ethics are deeply woven into the story of each piece of jewelry. The jewelry brand, which was founded in 1976, has adapted to the new era and has also moved into the era of personalized production and online sales. Now everyone will be able to buy jewelry of their own design from Inardi Jewelry at an affordable price.

In Vendome Square, known as the jewelry center of Paris, the Courbet brand, which was born in 2018, is known for its eco-friendly jewelry. The brand is named after the famous painter Gustave Courbet, the creator of the realism movement and a lover of beauty and nature. The cofounders Manuel Mallen and Marie-Ann Wachtmeister, who strive for sustainability and complete transparency about the source of the stones they use, prefer to use only lab-grown diamonds for their creations. In a statement, Manuel Mallen describes lab-grown diamonds as follows: “Lab-grown diamonds are not synthetic. In fact, there is no synthesis in the production of these diamonds. There is only one element: carbon, which crystallizes as it occurs in nature. Simply put, if we use the analogy of a baby for a “natural” diamond, we can say that a lab-grown diamond is a test-tube baby. For this reason, lab-grown diamonds are real stones and are certified by independent gemological institutes in the same way as mined diamonds.
