Tıffany & Co.’s latest hıgh jewellery features mythıcal creatures

Tiffany & Co. is marking the third and final chapter of its Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste collection with a new high jewellery offering that draws on a host of defining cultural references from the works of legendary designer Jean Schlumberger.

The new Owl on a Rock series of brooches takes Schlumberger’s iconic Bird on a Rock as its inspiration, reworking the treasured icon with an owl motif perched upon a complementary gemstone, spanning black opal and moonstone to tanzanite and celestial-star sapphires that captures an illuminated night sky.

Schlumberger’s Tiffany Phoenix brooch informs a new representation of the mythological bird on a brooch and ring adorned with vibrant fire opals and Umba sapphires. Other designs in the line feature rubellites, with one exceptional necklace studded with 17 cushion-cut rubellites of over 73 carats.

Elsewhere, a series of unicorn-inspired designs draw on references to Schlumberger’s Crazy Twist jewels with diamond-encrusted swirled horns set with purple and pink sapphires. Highlighting this chapter is a dazzling Unicorn brooch, encrusted with a bi-colour cushion-cut tourmaline of over 25 carats.

A final chapter, Star Burst, pays homage to Schlumberger’s boundless imagination and his fascination with the mysteries of the universe with lustrous designs that liken galaxies, including a necklace featuring six oval cabochon Crystal opals of over 64 carats and diamonds.

“Each chapter began with an intensive study of the subjects or themes that inspired it. For the fall launch of Tiffany Céleste, the Star Burst, Phoenix, Owl on a Rock and Unicorn chapters reference archival Jean Schlumberger masterpieces, such as his Phoenix brooch,” said Nathalie Verdeille, chief artistic officer at Tiffany & Co. “Each new design is an ode to Jean Schlumberger’s boundless creativity.”
