Tasakı creates pearl wıred headphones for 70th annıversary
Tasaki, Japan’s largest and most respected jeweller, is renowned for its innovative use of lustrous pearls. This autumn, the Japanese jeweller is lending its modern approach to two unique sets of wired headphones that cleverly reinterpret the house’s ‘balance neo’ and ‘danger fang’ collections.
Each pair of wired earphones are embellished with Akoya pearls, known for being perfectly round in shape, highly lustrous, with an almost metallic-like reflection.
Meanwhile, the body of the earphone is made of aluminium, featuring a 10mm diameter acoustic drive that produces a sound field with depth and intensity, as well as an extended mid-to-high frequency range.
Tasaki’s ‘balance neo’ headphones retail for £1,970, while the ‘danger fang’ design is priced at £1,750, with both pairs sold exclusively in Selfridges London at the Tasaki Floating Shell pop-up store from 20th November to 5th January.
Also available at the Selfridges pop-up is Tasaki’s new collaboration with Japanese sports brand, Asics, on several limited-edition pairs of the ASICS “GT-2160” trainers, which feature lattices of pearls linked over the laces, or looped around the body of the shoe. A Tasaki collaboration with eyewear brand, Eyevan, also features, introducing eight new sets of glasses, studded with gold spikes and pearls.
