Chantecler Capri designed Nautilus, a parure dedicated to their beloved Tyrrhenian Sea, an essential element of the Caprese identity, which took top honors as the Haute Couture Winner at the Couture Design Awards in Las Vegas,

The highlight of the new suite is the winning necklace featuring fourteen iridescent nautilus shells that magically peek amongst colorful titanium branches. A strong and refined combination, the artistic and allegorical work is executed in a mix of white enamel, gold, titanium and diamonds. The stark bright white light is enveloped in grey and punctuated with iridescent, gradient shades of blue, all representing the ethereal aura of the white caps in the mid winter sea.

The Nautilus necklace has a wealth of meaning combining myth, glamour and tradition in addition to a complicated production with specialty design and high tech elements. “We are thrilled to have been selected by our peers for the honor of the ‘Haute Couture Award'”, said Maria Elena Aprea, creative director. “Our heritage is the beating heart of each piece I design and the ‘Capriness’ of our Nautilus necklace continues to tell our story, inspired by the beauty of our surroundings with advanced design and technical details.

Evoking thoughts of the Hellenic myths overlapping with photographic images of Ansel Adams, Moholy Nagy, and Paul Strand, the bold statement necklace is presented in the shape of exotic shells of Baroque princes’ Wunderkammer.

There is also an earring weaving together aesthetic power and symbolic meaning in a logarithmic shell spiral appearing to rotate. Presented in titanium, it allows for the combination of generous dimensions, sculptural flexibility and light weight wearability.

A ring completes the new high jewelry set, enhanced by the presence of another dynamic shell generating its own equiangular spiral formation. Made with 18K yellow gold, titanium, white enamel, and diamonds it features elegant curves as it beautifully wraps around the finger.
