Mikimoto has released its latest high jewelry collection, an array of floral scenes inspired by flowers caught mid-bloom and petals captured in an invisible breeze. The “Les Pétales” collection is a tribute to nature’s beauty, the brand said, cementing “the fleeting beauty of petals in motion” through more than 40 high jewelry pieces. Cultured Akoya pearls are seen throughout, along with morganite, tourmaline, diamonds, South Sea pearls, and other gemstones set in 18-karat yellow, white, and rose gold.

“Beckoned by the wind, rose petals flutter gently. The radiant beauty of this fleeting moment is captured magnificently, and will continue to bloom forevermore,” said Mikimoto.

While cultured Akoya pearls are an anchor in each design, Mikomoto’s Les Pétales brooch highlights natural conch pearls as the center of two roses. The piece is an expression of the instant that the two roses “bloom,” releasing sapphire and diamond petals.

Pieces like the Les Pétales bracelet, seen above, feature a lace-like weave of Akoya pearls as a refined take on modern femininity, Mikimoto said.

Meanwhile, 18-karat rose gold and diamond flower petals flow across the pearls, as if caught in the wind. 

Statement necklaces are seen throughout the collection, with the above piece being a highlight that pays homage to the transformative beauty of nature. It features a rose with petals spread across multiple stands of cultured Akoya pearls as they drift away, while the pair of earrings seen above continue the theme.

While many pieces feature petals dancing in a gust of wind, the rings in the Les Pétales collection depict “the subtle quiver of flower petals” as they sway in a soft breeze, Mikimoto said.

Another highlight of the collection is a headpiece depicting petals from a blooming tourmaline rose dancing in the wind.
