Lıly-Rose Depp ıs the new face of Chanel’s Premıère watch

The actress, who stars in the HBO series The Idol, will front a new campaign featuring the re-edition of Jacques Helleu’s iconic 1987 watch design, released on September 1.

The 24-year-old, who appears as the troubled up-and-coming pop star Jocelyn in the HBO drama series “The Idol,” described the watch as “beautiful, delicate, chic, classic” and a design “only Chanel could make.”

Depp became the youngest ambassador for the Rue Cambon house in 2015 when she fronted the fall 2015 eyewear collection, Pearl, at just 16 years old.

Ever since, she has graced numerous Chanel campaigns and runways. From her first Met Gala to the 1994 vintage dress she chose for this year’s Cannes film festival, her name has become synonymous with the maison.

The new campaign follows almost exactly eight years after her first, and showcases the Première Édition Originale watch, Chanel’s re-release of the iconic timepiece from 1987 – the Première. The watch is design to capture the DNA of the maison, and a true representation of the brand’s history.

The case evokes the cap of the N°5 fragrance bottle, the world’s most famous perfume, as well as the octagonal design of Place Vendôme. The bracelet, consisting of intertwined gold and black leather links takes inspiration from the chain on the iconic Chanel bag.
