Barbıe fans make Mıssoma necklace a sell-out success

British brand, Missoma, has experienced resounding success with one of its demi-fine jewellery pieces after Margot Robbie wore the design on screen in Greta Gerwig’s live-action Barbie film.

The 18k gold-plated Ridge Heart Charm necklace has sold out for the third time on the brand’s website this week.

In the build-up to the film’s release, searches for ‘pink Barbie fashion’ on Google spiked by 525% in one day and searches for #barbiecore exceeded 488.2m views on TikTok.

Designers and brands have been tapping into the viral Barbiecore trend to drive revenue and increase consumer awareness about their products – and fans have been loving it.

Since the release, movie-goers have been trying to recreate Margot Robbie’s Barbie looks – resulting in increases in searches for sparkly jumpsuits and rollerblades.

Luckily for Missoma, the Barbie costume department selected the Ridge Heart Charm necklace for the film, pairing the piece with one of the character’s more natural looks – a yellow sundress and relaxed half-up/half-down hairstyle.

As with many of the brand’s more popular pieces, the necklace has been selling out almost as soon as it has been restocked and the gold-plated necklace was briefly available on the Missoma website yesterday (Tuesday 8 August) before selling out for the third time.

Missoma is definitely making the most of the increased publicity from featuring in the film, pairing the necklace with a Barbie pink dress in product shots and displaying the necklace on a hot pink background.

Crafted from 18k gold-plated brass, the gold puffed heart pendant features ridge detailing and a twisted rope jump ring on a delicate bobble chain.
