A GOTHIC TALE IN DIAMONDS-TIFFANY & CO.’S JEWELRY SHINE IN “FRANKENSTEIN”

The 200-year legacy of Tiffany & Co. comes to life once again in Guillermo del Toro’s horror film Frankenstein. Masterpieces selected from the archives, along with modern high Jewelry creations, do more than adorn the characters. They become a vital part of the storytelling, bringing emotions and inner worlds vividly to life on screen. Starring Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, and Christoph Waltz, the film presents Tiffany & Co. as a true artistic partner. Rare archival jewelry, contemporary high jewelry designs, and exclusive pieces crafted specifically for the movie merge seamlessly with costumes and set design, shaping the film’s visual language. Costume designer Kate Hawley emphasizes that the jewelry was an inseparable part of the creative process, just as crucial as wardrobe or accessories, especially in highlighting the refined spirit of Mia Goth’s character. A total of 27 Tiffany pieces appear in the film: necklaces, bracelets, rings, earrings, brooches, silver objects, pocket watches and a comb. Among them, 10 are historical masterpieces, 6 are archival silver designs, 6 are modern creations, and 5 are one-of-a-kind pieces made especially for the production.
The standout piece is the legendary Wade Necklace, designed in 1900. Worn by Mia Goth, this iconic design radiates timeless elegance with over 40 carats of diamonds, becoming a symbol of beauty reborn on screen. Frankenstein made its world premiere this August in the main competition of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival. After a limited theatrical release on October 17, the film will reach global audiences on Netflix starting November 7. Tiffany & Co.’s mesmerizing designs perfectly complement the film’s gothic and romantic atmosphere, once again proving that jewelry is not only something to be seen, but something to be felt.

To celebrate the debut of Frankenstein, the jewelry house unveiled breathtaking, immersive window displays at The Landmark, its iconic Fifth Avenue store in New York. Each of the five windows was designed under the artistic direction of Guillermo del Toro himself. These special installations recreate key moments from the film through the gothic architecture of Victor Frankenstein’s laboratory window. Dramatic lightning flashes and ominous stormy skies come alive on digital screens, merging with dazzling diamond jewelry placed behind them, transforming the display into a truly theatrical visual experience.

Since the 1950s, Tiffany & Co.’s Fifth Avenue windows have provided a creative canvas for art visionaries such as Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns. With this latest collaboration, the brand opens a new chapter at the intersection of cinema and luxury, continuing to prove that true craftsmanship, much like great storytelling, is timeless.
