A dıamond brooch went under the hammer – the honor of Empress Catherine II

The main charitable event of the year was held in Yekaterinburg. One of the lots of the charity auction, the culminating event of the Assembly, was a diamond brooch – the cipher of Catherine the Great.

Since 1762, the precious adornment was a badge of distinction and special position at the court for the imperial ladies-in-waiting. In 2018, the official custodian of the honorary symbol, the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve, transferred the right to reproduce the historical code to the CHAMOVSKIKH jewelry house. The craftsmen exactly repeated the historical decoration – a gold brooch set with 123 diamonds, which is topped with a stylized imperial crown.

With a starting price of 400,000 rubles, the diamond brooch was sold for 4.08 million.
