“Exhibitions play a key role in helping economic recovery.” – Founding Partner Şermin Cengiz, UBM Rotaforte

He highlights that exhibitions are the key to a rapid recovery of the global economy: “Exhibitions make significant contributions, not only to their respective sectors but also to side industries both before and during the exhibitions. They serve as a source of income to over 100 industries ranging from transportation to accommodation, from food and beverage to booth construction.  Istanbul Jewelry Show’s editions in March and October 2019, generated TRY 164,2 million revenue for the side industries, excluding the orders made at the show and exhibition space fees, based on UFI calculation method.

482 exhibitions were organised in 2019 in Turkey, hosting a total of 25.828.251 visitors. Despite expectations of this number declining in 2020 due to cancelled/deferred events, the exhibition industry in Turkey will continue to grow in the coming years.

This year, Istanbul Jewelry Show, which we’ve continued to organise for the last 35 years, hits a significant milestone as this year will be the 50th edition. Growing in parallel with the Turkish and international jewelry industry, our exhibition will continue to be a high-quality address for the global market, and particularly for Turkey by adapting rapidly to the new normal.”
