BlueRock Diamonds raised $ 1.1 million from the sale of three rough stones in an August tender, achieving the highest price per carat for the entire year.

The mining company sold the largest of the 58.6-carat stones for $ 585,000, or $ 10,000 per carat. The diamond was the largest BlueRock had ever mined from its Kareevley mine in South Africa.

The company also found buyers for a 21.6-carat stone that sold for $ 268,000, or $ 12,400 per carat, and a 14.3-carat diamond that sold for $ 236,000, or $ 16,500 per carat.
