Auctım to Offer 7.3M+ Carats of Rough Emeralds
International online auction house Auctim will offer more than 1.4 tons of rough emeralds in a sale in September. The sale will feature 1,463.3 kilograms (more than 7.3 million carats) of rough Brazilian emeralds, offered in 109 lots.
The offering is part of a court-ordered liquidation, the auction house said. Stone quality varies from commercial-grade melee to “near-gem” material, said Auctim. The scale and diversity of the material is expected to attract “strong international interest,” according to the auction house.
“This sale stands out due to both the volume and the variety,” said Christophe Moyersoen, CEO at Auctim.
“In addition to commercial-grade parcels, bidders will also discover premium material with strong cutting potential and color appeal.”
The auction will take place Sept. 1-11. In-person viewings are available in Antwerp for verified bidders who have registered and paid the required warranty.
The starting prices of the 109 lots currently listed on the auction website total €2.95 million ($3.4 million).
