Istanbul Chamber of Jewellery ELECTIONS PRESIDENT CANDIDATES NORAY İŞLER MADE IMPORTANT EXPLANATIONS

Noray Işler, who was the chairman of ICJ between 2014-2017, made statements about the issues that created tension before the elections to be held on Thursday, January 13.

“With the draft of the jewelry law, jewelers and consumers need to be protected. We have taken Turkish manufacturers under protection with the taxes they impose on finished gold jewelry from abroad. Turkish companies have been brought into a position to compete with the world. The current administration has forgotten this, but it should be continued regularly. The Turkish jeweler model, which produces, sells, and exports a foreign-dependent gold trading place, should be implemented.

We have established, initiated, and brought this project to our country, which is valid at world standards and will leave more than 5 million USD annually in our country. We need to announce this more in the sectoral and national press and double the transaction volume. The Turkish GLT -Gemological Laboratory is at the forefront of studies on diamonds and precious stones in our country.

So, an election that directly concerns 40 thousand tradesmen represents the most important lifeblood of the Turkish economy.”
