A surprıse for newly marrıed couples from Kımaï

Meghan Markle’s favorite jewelry brand launches a line of wedding rings with cultured diamonds

Vintage jewelry, ethical stones – modern brides and grooms, who aren’t indifferent to the fate of nature, have more and more alternatives to ordinary, not always environmentally friendly wedding rings. One of the latest innovations is laboratory-grown diamonds.

To the delight of conscious couples, London-based brand Kimaï has already mastered the technology and is launching a line of wedding jewelry with synthetic stones.

There is also controversy about the environmental friendliness of laboratory-grade diamonds, since a lot of electricity is used to produce them. One of the 2019 reports says that the production of artificial stones emitted three times more greenhouse emissions than the production of natural ones. Other studies, on the other hand, argue that laboratory diamonds require significantly fewer resources. Kimaï assures that the stones come directly to them from an Israeli manufacturer that uses renewable energy sources.

The ethical wedding rings will be handcrafted in Antwerp from recycled gold. The first collection will include six models: from simple solitaire rings to more intricate curved and spiral ones. Prices will range from £ 2,000 to £ 15,000 depending on the carat and clarity of the stones.
